Leaps helps schools meet Title IV objectives with engaging academic psychosocial skills training and support programs for whole-child education

Below are some of the key objectives of Title IV funding for schools. We have shared information about how Leaps tools can help your school meet key objectives. If you have any questions about how this works, send us an email.

Title IV Objective:
Supporting LEAs in offering a well-rounded education and fostering safe, healthy, supportive, and drug-free environments.

How Leaps Is Aligned:
Leaps helps schools and districts measure and improve key aspects of a healthy school environment, including school climate, behavior, classroom management, cultural awareness, respect for self and others, including teachers. Our reporting tools provide a deep dive into what is working for each student, and what areas may be ripe for improvement. Our classroom challenges tool helps educators address specific incidents by maturity level with a plan of action, assessments and reporting that supports RTI, PBIS and MTSS. Leaps helps schools meet Title IV objectives, allowing teachers to focus on student success across academics, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Title IV Objective:
Expanding access to or coordinate resources for school-based counseling and mental health programs, such as through school-based mental health services partnership programs.

How Leaps Is Aligned:
Leaps offers school-based counselors and mental health professionals a powerful collection of social-emotional assessment tools to benchmark where a student is on their learning path and what types of lessons and interventions may best serve the needs of that student and their class.  allow counselors and educators to log and track the progress of their interventions. Our lessons provide real-world perspective for students to gain important life skills, needed to manage life after school. When schools follow our program, there are measurable improvements in behavior, attendance, academic scores and overall school culture. We also provide RTI, PBIS and MTSS tools so that students with very specific mental health requirements can gain access to appropriate services as needed.

Title IV Objective:
Close the achievement gap between high- and low-performing children, especially the achievement gaps between disadvantaged children and their more advantaged peers.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

Leaps gives teachers important insight student by student, to help them fill in gaps as needed, including the ability to take a whole-child approach with regard to skills training and teaching, beyond just academics. Educators can view data breakdowns by student, class and across the whole school, including data points related to students’ relative advantage, including race and ethnicity, FRPL status, English Language Learner, and other statuses, across each aspect of a student’s achievement in school. There are many ways that Leaps helps schools meet Title IV Objectives, continue reading for more support.

Title IV Objective:
Disseminating best practices and evaluating program outcomes relating to any LEA activities to promote student safety and violence prevention.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

Leaps helps schools and districts track the effectiveness of safety and violence programs by measuring change-over-time with valid and reliable assessment tools that can be managed in concert with parents and adminstrators. Our classroom challenges tool makes it easier for any teacher to recognize signs of potential behaviors even when that student is not acting out in an obvious manner. Our approach includes real talk with students and parents when safety and violence are part of the conversation, with specific steps to take as things escalate, always focused on the best path for the student as well as for their classmates and teacher’s own well-being.

Title IV Objective:
Provide greater decision-making authority and flexibility to schools and teachers in exchange for greater responsibility for student performance.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

Leaps provides classroom-level, school-level, and district-level reporting that provides teachers and school leaders with individualized data they can use to improve their support for student performance. Our analytics provide results that allow administrators to factor in specific student characteristics including gender, race and ethnicity, and FRPL status.

Title IV Objective:
Programs that help prevent bullying and harassment. Panorama helps educators monitor student and school-wide trends in behavioral incidents and positive behavior.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

Leaps has lessons, assessments and reporting specifically designed to address bullying or harassment issues at school. Our Classroom Challenges tool and assessments help teachers and administrators keep up with how each student is doing, as well as providing full class and school reports for deep data insights into what’s working and where improvement or intervention may be needed. Schools that use Leaps see a measureable improvement in behavior incidents, increased attendance, better test scores and overall improvement in terms of school culture.

Title IV Objective:
Establishing or improving school dropout and reentry programs.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

This is where we started. Leaps first started as a special program for at-risk students to see if we could improve attendance and stave off rising drop out rates. Some of our early studies were on this topic and we have proven results that show Leaps can and will improve attendence, and more kids will stay in school. We also know their grades will improve and their overall sense of self will become positive. Our assessment tools will help educators see possible issues before it’s too late for intervention and for re-entry students, this kind of training will become a lifelong path of learning.

Title IV Objective:
Establishing learning environments and enhancing students’ effective learning skills that are essential for school readiness and academic success, such as by providing integrated systems of student and family supports.

How Leaps Is Aligned:

Leaps is a comprehensive platform that brings together all aspects of a student’s performance – academic and otherwise – so that the student and their family are able to participate in plans for improvement. Our lesson plans, assessment tools and reporting support a Multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), response to intervention (RTI) and PBIS as well. We help educators to monitor students’ academic and learning progress using multiple sources of data, and to plan tiered interventions and supports. Leaps also supports the measurement of students’ psychosocial or social and emotional skills, and provides “go home” family materials and other ways to engage family members in the process. Leaps helps schools to support every student’s foundational learning skills for academic success and for life after school as well.
